Terms & Conditions
Welcome
Welcome to The Good Neighbour. We are honoured to support you and your family through compassionate, relationship-based, non-medical care. We understand that welcoming someone into your home is a significant decision, and we are committed to earning your trust through professionalism, kindness, and consistency.
Our goal is to create meaningful relationships while helping you maintain your independence, comfort, and quality of life. Every service we provide is centred on respect, dignity, and personalized support tailored to your unique needs and preferences.
Client Rights
You have the right to receive services in a manner that respects your dignity, privacy, culture, beliefs, and personal preferences. You also have the right to participate in decisions regarding your care.
You may ask questions, decline services, request changes to your care plan, and express concerns without fear of discrimination or retaliation.
Client Responsibilities
To help us provide safe and effective service, clients are asked to provide accurate information, maintain a reasonably safe environment, and notify us of changes that may affect service delivery.
We also ask that clients and family members treat our caregivers with courtesy and respect. Mutual respect helps create positive, trusting relationships for everyone involved.
Scheduling
Services are arranged according to an agreed schedule. We will do our best to accommodate requested changes, although adjustments depend on caregiver availability.
If a caregiver is delayed because of weather, traffic, or an emergency, we will communicate with you as quickly as possible and provide updates.
Cancellations
We request at least 24 hours' notice (unless there is a medical emergency) if you need to cancel or reschedule a visit. Advance notice helps us manage schedules efficiently and serve other clients.
Late cancellations or repeated missed visits may be subject to fees outlined in your service agreement. We understand emergencies occur and will consider exceptional circumstances.
Payments
Payment terms, service rates, and package pricing are outlined in your Service Agreement. Invoices are issued according to the agreed billing schedule.
If you have questions regarding your invoice or payment options, our office is available to assist you. We are committed to transparent and accurate billing.
Privacy & Confidentiality
We respect your privacy and collect only the information necessary to provide quality services. Personal information is handled in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy legislation.
Information is shared only with your consent or when required by law. We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of your personal and health-related information.
Safety & Emergencies
Client and caregiver safety is our highest priority. In a medical emergency, our caregivers will immediately contact emergency services and then notify your designated emergency contact.
Our caregivers may refuse or discontinue work if conditions present an immediate safety risk. We will work with you to identify solutions whenever possible.
Communication
Open communication is essential to providing excellent service. We encourage clients and families to share feedback, changing needs, or concerns promptly.
Our office is available to answer questions, discuss scheduling, and review your service plan to ensure your expectations continue to be met.
Complaints & Feedback
We are committed to resolving concerns fairly, respectfully, and promptly. Every complaint is taken seriously and reviewed by management.
Your feedback helps us improve. We welcome suggestions, compliments, and recommendations that strengthen the quality of our services.
